these are three words that didn’t exist
when the circumnavigation first began.
choice word apple
you see it was a difficult if not impossible
situation to explain. but it helped that no
one at all was asking then.
some say the rest has just been history,
but this is something both more and less,
something akin to math, the way when
the first tree falls, it suddenly unexpectedly
discovers, it is not alone,
and falling then becomes a matter of
the most pressing & intimate nature.
so if matter, every tasty drop, is a verb
just who then do we think that serpent
was, wrapped up inside a tree?
here, take a bite!

This poem has meat on it’s bones, Neil! So much to ponder and written well!
It definitely reverberates with essence of fairytale. Writing one out, at least for me, was a timely process and different from so much of what I write. I think for me it was just the right day for writing one. Every other day this week would have produced haiku and sonnets, maybe one elegy.
