Saying Farewell,
Thank you to Read Write Poem
Thank you to Dana Guthrie Martin, RWP founder, and to all the many fine talented generous staff and contributors! Thank you, all who participated and shared their poems with us. Well done! April 2010

There’s also been discussion in the forums about what to do next, so please do check them out. It’s a nice central location.
I should have posted a link to the discussion: http://readwritepoem.org/forums/topic/rwp-closing-where-do-we-regroup
Perfect and thank you very much.
hi, neil! thanks for collecting the info in one place! we (me and deb and jill) are also collecting info on facebook on a page called “big tent poetry”. we’re announcing prompt sites and communities there, hopefully to include our very own modest project soon.
Thanks Carolee! I’m not very “faced” but now motivated, I’ll see if I can dredge up my access and go look for your big tent. And however, I’ll keep an eye out for you.
And just in case, if you pretty-please would, let me know when you guys conjure something up. You’re all in my favorites candy box!
I’m tired. I’m late. And another poem to write! Thanks!
Hi Neil -
Wherever the post RWP energies and directions ultimately prove to lead — I want to go on record as a proponent of the linked series of independent sites concept that has been introduced, by whom, I don’t remember. We may or may not want to choose an “umbrella” name for the linked community of sites, which would appear as a header in the sidebar’s of the relevant grouped site links — to simply point out the more that random relationship? Don’t know if that’s important or not. I’ll go with the flow of the group here.
Please know, when I re-open Writer’s Island on Saturday, May 1st, with it’s first new weekly writing prompt – it will be linked to every writing prompt site that I personally frequent… and I am glad to include any new sites that evolve out of this RWP community. The master widget is all ready to load onto my site’s sidebar.
Anyone who wishes to have their new (or current) prompt site included, simply go the Island and in the comments section of the We’re Back post that is linked right here, and which has been up for a couple weeks — please leave me an accurate and complete URL and badge code for your site. I will be glad to include it in with the links to the other such sites.
Whatever the final decision here, Writer’s Island reopens May 1st and all are invited for some casual weekly poetry/writing fun.
Thank you so much for commenting here Rob.
I’ve been to your Writer’s Island already and appreciate too your making this available to the folks at RWP!
Myself, I’m still not ready to say goodbye to RWP, so am looking most towards what will keep that community intact and growing (albeit even if the new-to-be site isn’t the technical equal of RWP). The core variety of features can continue I do believe. Leastwise that’s what I’m going for at this time.
To that end I’ve setup a shell site myself and we’ll see what happens next (grows or continues not). If you care to look…

And my thanks again.
Neil, I echo everyone in thanking you for helping us sort this out. I need a place to go, and this is helping.
So good to hear from you. Have you been to the new site as yet Pamela? Just today I’ve added the prompt page (now along with the “home” front news page). Not “open for business” yet, but you can take a look around, leave a comment if you wish.
Got a couple days off from work, so I’m hard at it right now. Wanting to be at least “prompt ready” come this May. I’d only feel honored to have you there as well!
Hi Neil:
Yours is a very ambitious undertaking and the site looks great! I’m relatively new to RWP, so really sorry to see it go. Your We Write Poems site looks like it will fill the void before it hurts too much. And, I’m happy to see that many of the familiar talents will be together still.
Cheers,
Shari
